London Fashion Week S/S 2013 Make Up

Most people (including us) do not really follow make up trends as dictated by any fashion event. We do what is most comfortable to us in our day to day lives. In India, kajal (black kohl) is the most common make up item if any, next to the Bindi (gotta digress here a little bit for our non-indian friends and readers, peeps! bindis are worn by both married and single women :) A stylish lady might wear mascara, eye liner and lipstick. But most other paraphernalia like blusher, foundation, concealer are only worn in air conditioned lives or special occassions. Thankfully, we in India happen to have lots of special occassions, we love celebrations of every kind, and we love to dress up :D

The make up trend for Spring and Summer 2013 is glowing fresh skin, nails are nude all the way (beige or flesh toned), freckles and beauty spots are on display, with pale neon or candy colours to create a pretty doll !! Antoni & Alison showed their smokey eyes in neon, Maria Grachvogel hints of blush and palest peach, PPQ candy lips, Moschino oasis green eyes, Erdem neon orange on inner lips!

M.A.C.'s Andrew Gallimore created orange and fuchsia eye popping summery lip at Holly Fulton for a two tone pout. His muse was the 50's LA surfer/skater girl with summer freckles and sunblock neon lips, with neon pink in the outer corner and orange in the middle !

Clinique - Brush-on cream liner in TRUE BLACK

Black eyeliner will never go out of style. At Mulberry, focus was the eye with black solid block of eyeliner in a straight blunt line. At Issa, a black line was added beneath till the mid of the eyes.

At Antoni & Alison, sockets were loaded with bright blue, green and purple.

Smokey eyes get a twist with neon. Eyes were aqua bright at both Moschino and Clements Ribeiro.



We also noticed make up gurus painting freckles on faces for a youthful look at Moschino, Sass & Bide and Antonio Berardi. Fancy that !!! who wuda thought freckles will be so cool ! By the way, we love buying fashion magazines at this time of the year, fully loaded with yummy pictures of new pretty shiny things, and next time you see a trend we reported, in the mags, do drop us a line, won't you ? :)
