Coco Chanel once said .... “A woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future.” .... “Perfume puts the finishing touch to elegance - a detail that subtly underscores the look, an invisible extra that completes a woman's personality. Without it there is something missing" said Gianni Versace .... You get our drift here :) ... both the fashion stalwarts quoted above reiterates the one item of every person’s wardrobe which is a absolute necessity ... unless you fancy yourself a cave dweller and stay miles away from polite society .... in which case you wouldn’t be reading this blog anyway :) .... In the evolution of civilization ... health, cleanliness and hygiene, religion, bathing rituals and perfumes are all interlinked through the ages ... In fact, the origin of the word 'perfume' comes from the Latin 'per fumum' meaning "through smoke" ... as the first rituals of worship consisted of burning fragrant plant matter as incense which conveyed prayers through smoke to the Gods !!
The world's first recorded chemist is considered to be a woman named Tapputi, (a perfume maker who was mentioned in a cuneiform tablet from the 2nd millennium BC in Mesopotamia) who distilled flowers, oil, and other aromatics ... imagine that !! ... We Indians have a long history of perfumery too ... Agar ( agarwood, agaru, oudh, oud), Chandan (sandalwood), Attar (ittar), Dhoop (frankincense), Khus (vetiver), Pushkarmula ( Indian costus), Gandharas (myrrh) ... well the list is endless ... we Indians have been perfuming our homes, hair and bath water since before the great Vedas were written ... come to think of it ... there is not a single deity in the Indian pantheon of Gods who are not associated with a perfumed flower or a garland of flowers ... it is just in our nature to be nosy about the pleasures of smell :D ... And among all the fragrances and their families, nothing is more natural and beautiful than the fragrance of a flower .... and among flowers .... the rose, is undoubtedly, the queen of floral fragrances !! ... Did you know .... the rose is one of the planet's oldest living relics ... making the rose over 35 million years old !! ...

Now we are sure that there are a lot of you whose personal taste may run towards ...... leather wrapped in oak moss with a top note of loca beans and a middle note of vanilla dipped in cut grass with a sillage as lasting as Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.24 in C minor ...... :O (pardon:p, got a lil bit carried away with the English there, it’s our second language you know :P) .... anyway, what we are painfully trying to say is that ... we don’t know how to talk in “perfume language” ... therefore we are going to present you with a list of our favourite Rose perfumes ... mostly made from one or a combination of the above roses ... and also list the new Rose perfumes of 2012. What we are not going to do ... is to tell you where to apply perfume and how much to apply (that’s a very personal opinion). What we would advise is that if you like Rose perfumes ... copy this list ... and try it on your skin whenever you are in a perfume shop ... see if you like it on yourself because same perfumes smell differently on individuals !

DeleteI have tried the most of the perfumes mentioned above and the fragrance is absolutely amazing specially the stella rose, but the only problem is that the cost of these perfumes are on the expensive side. Found another fragrance, the exotic variant of Spinz deo and I have fallen in love since then. It’s long lasting, not too mild neither too strong and the best part is the price. Found it to be quite affordable. So would definitely recommend stella rose for perfumes and Spinz exotic for deo’s
